Childress County Courthouse reopens
By Whitney Wyatt/The Red River Sun
CHILDRESS – The Childress County Courthouse is back open to the public.
This decision was made during the Childress County Commissioners Court meeting on Jan. 11. The Courthouse has been closed to the public since Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Childress County Judge Jay Mayden said residents are required to wear face masks in offices inside the courthouse.
The commissioners also decided to let the burn ban expire on Tuesday, Jan. 12, Mayden added. While they tabled the software contract for financial purposes, they scheduled all Commissioners Court meetings for the second Monday of the month for the remainder of the year.
