WELLINGTON — Want a fun and entertaining way to spend time this cold season? Collingsworth Public Library’s annual Winter Reading Challenge began Jan. 4. Join anytime during the duration of the event, which lasts until Feb. 28.
“There’s no registration,” said Vicki Decker, librarian. “The first time you return your challenge list, we’ll just add your name to our records and get going.”
Each week the library will draw for two prizes from entries received since the previous drawing. The grand prize drawing for the golden bookends will take place March 5.
“When you complete a challenge, write the title of the book and the date you finished reading,” Decker said. “A book can only fulfill one category. Only books read between Jan. 4 and Feb. 28 this year will count towards the challenge.”
Complete one challenge each week to be eligible for the weekly drawing. Bring the form from the library back each week with completed challenge to be eligible for the weekly drawings.
Weekly entries must be submitted before 9 a.m. on Jan. 19, Jan. 26, Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 16, Feb. 23 and March 2. For contactless participation, print the form requested from the library at home.
“Each week when you fill in a challenge, scan or take a picture of the form and email it to us,” added Decker. “Prizes must be picked up in person.”
