Marilyn Phillips, 74 of Wellington, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020.
Private family graveside services will be held in North Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Noah Downing, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born July 7, 1946 in Embudo, N.M. to Pat and Fay Marie Hembree Rush. She married Wayne Phillips in March of 1967 in Plainview.
Marilyn graduated from Plainview High School in 1964 and attended business college in Plainview. She and Wayne moved to Wellington from Dalhart in 1978 and opened the My-T-Burger restaurant.
She served as a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she taught young children’s Sunday school classes and loved joining in the lady’s meetings.
Marilyn loved to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events no matter the weather conditions. She was always going to be there and they knew it.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lora Beth in 1976; two brothers, Gerald and Donald Rush; and two sisters, Patsy Conklin and Laura Helton.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Wayne of Wellington; her son Cody Phillips and his wife Kim of Wellington; a brother Doug Rush and his wife Karla of Wichita Falls; and her two precious grandchildren, Barret and Brynlee Phillips, both of Wellington.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 809 Floydada St., Wellington, TX 79095.
