CHILDRESS – The Childress Independent School District School Board met in special session in the CHS Media Center, by teleconference or video conference at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14.
According to the minutes, Jay Teague made the motion to:
Find that the Superintendent’s decision to identify the Starks by name in his report to the board during the board meeting on Sept. 14 and to identify Cassie Stark by name on the agenda for the Special Board Meeting on Oct. 7 was done in the spirit of transparency and not to retaliate against or punish the Starks.
Affirm the administration’s remedy to remove the notice and agenda on the Oct. 7 special board meeting and video of this board meeting from the district’s archives on the website.
Have the district keep the Stark’s identity and personal information confidential as required and to the extent permitted by Federal and Texas law.
Matt Stone seconded the motion. CISD School Board members Doug Daniel, Carol Freeman, Lori Rabe, Stone, Teague and Stacy Wellborn all voted yea, the minutes stated. They finished the executive meeting at 9:08 p.m.
Before going into special session, the minutes stated the CISD School Board met in regular session in the CHS Media Center, by teleconference or video conference at 6 p.m. After hearing financial reports by Business Manager Karen Leonard, Superintendent Carl Taylor’s Superintendent Report and Principal Reports, the board approved the Nov. 9 meeting minutes. They also approved motions to pay bills and consent agenda items.
The board also went into executive session at 6:17 p.m. It ended at 6:35 p.m., and the meeting adjourned at 6:38 p.m., the minutes stated.
