Andres Garza, 96 of Memphis, died Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Amarillo.
Graveside services took place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with Rev. Bret Prince officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis.
Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Andres was born February 2, 1924 in Mission, Texas to Julian and Guadalupe Gurrea Garza. He married Teodora Dolores Martinez on December 12, 1943 in Mission.
Andres was a resident of Memphis most of his life where he worked as a gin operator for the Memphis Compress. He loved to carve wood and would make any design that would come to his mind. He read many books, loved to whistle and loved to read his Bible more than anything. Andres was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tedora Garza on July 21, 2012; two sons, Andrew Garza, Jr. and Matias Garza; a daughter, Yolanda Ramos; two grandchildren, Gabriel Garza, Jr. and Marinda Ramos; a great grandchild, Jason Ramos; a brother and two sisters; and by two son-in-laws, Jerry M. Stout and Eulalio Garza.
Survivors include seven sons, Arturo, Gabriel, Israel, Moses, Joe, Joel and Johnny Garza; three daughters, Angelica Stout, Sylvia Garza and Sara Beam; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
