CHILDRESS – Sharon Johnson has won the Childress City Council runoff for the City Council Alderman Place 4 seat with 56 votes compared to C. T. Taylor with 54 votes.
“I would like to thank everyone that voted for me,” Johnson said. “I appreciate your confidence in me.”
With her 31 and half years of banking experience, Johnson believes she can truly contribute to and benefit the council. It also helps that Childress has always been her home.
“I care about our city and the residents,” Johnson said. “I don’t really have any specific goals other than to try to make Childress a better place to live and raise our families, keeping in mind that I am only one vote.”
She joins Gary Clark, John Preston and Marino Rodriguez on the Childress City Council. In the Nov. 3 election, Johnson received 778 votes, Taylor 653, Mike Dewey 116 and Rapheal McKeen 52.
