CHILDRESS – Christmas candy, casseroles and charcuterie with just a phone call for Christmas – oh my! Ballyhoo and Candy Cottage are the places to go for holiday meals and desserts this Christmas.
Both businesses will deliver and have curbside pickup. “The charcuterie boxes would be a fantastic gift to send to special friends, family or co-workers,” said Ballyhoo owner Arica Lott. The charcuterie boxes include finger foods like pretzels, grapes and cheeses.
From gifts to desserts to meals, these two local shops will have families covered this holiday. Lott said Ballyhoo’s casseroles are made from Tell TX Premium Beef.
“Grab casseroles made from the freshest ingredients and hamburger meat that is bought and grown locally,” Lott said. “We’ll also make breakfast casseroles and sourdough cinnamon rolls.”
They have all kind of pies – chocolate and coconut meringues, buttermilk, pecan and more, as well as cheesecakes, Lott added. “We sold a lot for Thanksgiving,” Lott explained. “We took lots of orders.”
Because of this, Lott said the earlier people can order, the better. Ballyhoo will take orders through Dec. 22. People can place orders by calling 940-937-6775 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. They can also go to the Ballyhoo.texas Facebook page.
For those looking for Christmas candy, Candy Cottage is the place to go. Sheri Gray, co-owner of Candy Cottage, said they will make a wide variety this holiday season.
“We do custom orders,” Gray said. “We’ll make different kinds of Christmas candy and candy platters. The candy is freshly made in the store.”
This includes chocolates, fudge, peanut brittle, peanut patties, peppermints and truffles. Gray said they also make Christmas cookies. The deadline to order is Dec. 21. People can place orders by calling 940-937-9019 and leaving a message or on the Candy Cottage Facebook. Gray said Candy Cottage will be open until 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
