Chester McLain, 73 of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Born December 5, 1946 in Quanah to Glenn and Laverne McLain, an older brother and two sets of loving grandparents welcomed Chester in Childress.
He graduated in 1965 from Wellington High School. Chester had a lifetime love and fondness for his Wellington classmates as well as his classmates from Canadian in his younger school years.

Chester always had a conversation ready to go as his brothers, family, classmates, neighbors and strangers can all attest to. He enjoyed simple things like finding the next “best hamburger” or “best donut.” He never tired of listening to the radio or enjoying a good football game! Known for his smile, his laugh and his uplifting spirit, to know Chester was a gift that enriched many lives.
He is survived by four children, daughter Tiji Falcon and husband Javier, daughter Pam Richards and husband Dean, son Randy McLain and wife Chinami and daughter Kristi Benevidez and husband Sammy; stepson Chad Johnston and wife Jennifer; two brothers, Lynn McLain and wife Ann and Ted McLain and wife Jerri; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a niece, three nephews and their families.
