By Sheriff Michael (Mike) Pigg—
CHILDRESS – I have been made aware that some people are getting phone calls that show on the caller ID to be coming from the sheriff’s office. The person is told they have a warrant for their arrest. These type calls are called spoofing and can also be done using email. The sheriff’s office does not call people to tell them they have an arrest warrant. We will show up at the person’s door and make the arrest. Do not fall for these scams; always verify the information before you act.
