Gaylon Jones Layton, 78 of Arlington, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Gaylon was born March 11, 1942 in Wellington, Texas to Hezze and Golda Jones.
She married the love of her life, Tony Layton, on August 14, 1959. They spent 57 happy years together until his passing in 2016.
Gaylon was known for her sense of humor and infectious smile. She loved joining her family in board games and completing jigsaw puzzles. She was constantly working on new craft ideas and was known for the stockings she made for her family.
Gaylon was preceded in death by her parents, Hezze and Golda Jones; her husband, Tony Layton; her son Derel Layton; and her siblings Wynona Andress and James Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, LeAnn Carroll and husband Arvel, Vicki Pitman and Tammy Harkrider and husband Wes; her grandchildren, Brittany Davis, Matt Messer, Megan Geear, Chance Pitman, Hunter Harkrider, Nicole Carroll and Rachel Carroll; and her brother, Tim Jones and wife Karen.
A service was held on Tuesday, November 24, at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Interment took place at Parkdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wes Harkrider, Matt Messer, Chance Pitman, Hunter Harkrider, Jeremy Geear, Randy Mays, Arvel Carroll and Stephen Fischbach.
