WELLINGTON — Collingsworth County Chamber of Commerce organizers present “Christmas on the Bricks” on the courthouse square to mark the start to the 2020 holiday season. In addition, the red ticket tradition will proceed.
“‘Christmas on the Bricks’ is an exciting time of year for our sweet Wellington,” said organizer Margret Wood. “Despite the COVID pandemic, we will have the lighting of the square at 6 p.m. on Sunday night, Dec. 6.”
Attendees are encouraged to please wear masks and social distance. Local businesses and individuals will be decorating Christmas trees surrounding the square this week.
“Plus we have almost 50 local businesses that have donated Christmas cash, gift certificates or gift items for our red ticket drawings to spread some holiday cheer,” Wood said.
Collingsworth chamber board members are selling chances on these prizes for $10 each. A Facebook live event for the red ticket drawings will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14 in front of the Wellington Opportunity Center, Inc., 817 West Ave.
“For 2020, all the drawings will take place at the same time, and you do not have to be present to win,” added Wood. “But if you do, please practice pandemic protocol.”
Chamber board members will be selling red ticket chances in front of Market Square Supermarket from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
