CHILDRESS – Base rehabilitation on the northbound lane of US 83 in Childress County was completed Thursday, Nov. 19.
Traffic has been shifted to the east side of U.S. 83, according to a release from the Texas Department of Transportation Childress District. Traffic will be in one lane in each direction with a reduced lane width.
Rehabilitation work on the southbound lane is expected to take three to four weeks, at which time traffic will be returned to its original configuration with full-width lanes while the widenings for the new Super-2 lanes are continued.
Minimal delays can be expected, the release stated. Use caution when traveling through the work zones. This includes reducing speed, avoiding all distractions and obeying all posted signs.
