A semitruck that had blown multiple tires started this fire and others along Highway 287 east of Childress. The Childress Fire Department received the first call about it at 3:39 p.m. on Wednesday. Chief Daniel Tyler said they had all fires under control about eight hours later. The Texas Forest Service was also on scene.
