CHILDRESS – The City of Childress is closed to the public again because of COVID-19.
Assistant to the City Manager and City Secretary D’Linda Dockery sent this statement to The Red River Sun: “It is with regret that the City of Childress will be closing again to the public.
We made this determination based on a few compounding factors: The City’s rate of active cases; the rate of growth in active cases; and finally, the number of City employees who are affected and under quarantine. We want to ensure we can continue to meet the needs of the public we serve while protecting the health and safety of our community.
We have various ways to address your needs and concerns remotely: you may always call the City of Childress 940-937-3683. It is on this line you can make a free automatic phone payment and you can speak with a City Representative where we are here to address your concern or inquiry. You can utilize the City website (cityofchildress.com), make a payment, report issues or submit questions. We also still have our drop box and PO Box to accept payments and letters of inquiry.
Please be mindful that the City of Childress is experiencing strained staffing and may continue to do so throughout this period of office quarantine. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this closure.”
