WELLINGTON — Family and friends honored Matt and Kyla Cummings with a baby shower on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1, at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Attendees called from 2 to 3 in the afternoon.
A personalized name sign welcoming Baby Parker adorned the entry table. As guests arrived, they wrote notes of blessings on baby advice cards for Kyla and Matt.
A mermaid-themed diaper centerpiece served as the focal point of the refreshment table, as well as a tiered cupcake tower, featuring buttercream frosted cupcakes topped with mermaid tails. Guests also enjoyed a platter filled with an assortment of fruit and a creamy fruit punch.
The mother-to-be opened gifts as guests watched and visited. Gifts were displayed on tables bordering the room.
Special guests were Kyla’s mother Jamie Webb; her sister Bethany Harris and her nephew Karson Webb of Amarillo; maternal grandmother Darlene McManigal of Farwell; and aunts Christi McManigal of Clovis and Lisa McManigal with cousin Emily McManigal of Farwell.
Special local guests were Matt’s mother, Toni Cummings and his grandmother Ernestine Cummings. Sandra Motsenbocker, great aunt, and Jodi Cummings, cousin were also in attendance.
Other special out-of-town guests were Amber Cummings, Matt’s sister-in-law and nephew Braxton of Amarillo as well as Cynthia Curtis of Panhandle and Michelle Lafreniere from Clovis.
Hostesses for the shower were Karoline Ashmore, Melanie Baumgardner, D’Lyn Faulks, Alicia Montgomery, Terri Morris, Brooke Patterson, Candy Powell, D’Nae Souder, Jeanne Taylor, Kathy Warrick, Skyler Warrick and Cindy Weatherly.
