Eddie Orr, 69 of Wellington, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites took place at 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Keith Martin officiating. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Eddie was born on August 4, 1951, in Wellington to V.K. Orr, Jr. and Louise Alexander Orr. He married Sheryl Sheer on February 26, 1983 in Wellington.
In 1969, Eddie graduated from Wellington High School then from Clarendon College. He received his BS in animal science from WTSU, now known as West Texas A&M University. He was a farmer, rancher and cattle buyer.
Recently re-elected as Collingsworth County Commissioner Precinct 3, Eddie had served five terms since 2001. He also served as a member and past Worshipful Master of Wellington Masonic Lodge #763, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Jimmy Craft.
He is survived by his wife Sheryl of Wellington; two sons, Matt Orr and his wife Marcie of Wellington and Shawn Orr and his wife Amber of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Hunter Stark, Maverick and Maxon Orr and Lydia and Nathan Orr; two sisters, Lynda Wagner and her husband Ron of Amarillo and Beverly Clinkscale and her husband Jack of Bristow, Okla.; and a brother, Michael Orr and his wife Amber of Plano.
The family suggests that memorials be made to H.U.G.S., P.O. Box 24 or Home Delivered Meals, 1001 Amarillo St., both in Wellington, TX 79095.
