Nathan Arby Mulder

Nathan Mulder, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, October 19, 2020. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.

Nathan was born January 20, 1944 to Arby and Letha Dolly Fitzgerald Mulder in Plainview, Texas. Nathan grew up on the family farm at South Plains farming with his father and continuing to farm throughout most of his life. He attended South Plains School through the eighth grade when he entered Floydada High School graduating in 1962. Nathan had many fond memories from his days at both schools.

He attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview graduating in 1968 with his bachelor’s degree. At 17 years of age, Nathan surrendered to preach and served the Lord throughout his life pastoring.

He faithfully and lovingly pastored Northfield Baptist Church in Northfield and Faith Baptist Church in Wellington. Currently he served as the pastor of Flomot Baptist Church in Flomot for over 30 years.

Not known as a long winded preacher, Nathan preferred to keep his sermons as he described them, “short and sweet and to the point!” Pastoring was a delight and a blessing for Nathan and his wife Kathy.

He had a variety of jobs in his lifetime including pastoring, farming and serving as an Adult Probation Officer. He served as Chief Probation Officer for the 110th Judicial District in Floyd County for several years.

Nathan also served his community on the South Plains School Board and with Caprock Baptist Association, having held various positions including Moderator. He played a crucial part in the ministry, Christian Women’s Job Corp of Floyd and surrounding counties. He and his wife have enjoyed serving through this ministry for 14 years.

Nathan married his wife, Kathryn Mary Rowland, July 14, 1963 at South Plains Baptist Church. He and Kathy were blessed with four children, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Arby and Letha Mulder and his younger sister, Katherine Ruth Mulder Taylor.
