CHILDRESS – Despite what is being said on social media, children in Childress County can still go trick or treating.
The Facebook post that said the Childress Police Department will not allow children to go door to door trick or treating this Halloween is not true, Childress Police Chief Shade Miller said.
While he said he does not know where the information came from, Chief Shade Miller said it was not from him.
“The Childress Police Department has received several calls in reference to a Facebook post on not allowing people to go door to door to trick or treat,” Miller explained. “We are not doing that, and we just urge people to use COVID-19 cautions.”
Miller also said he urges parents and children to follow normal Halloween precautions when out trick or treating.
