WELLINGTON — A coronavirus pandemic kept fans on edge waiting for Tracy Byrd to make his way to the Wellington Ritz Theatre.
Originally set for 7:30 p.m., March 28, the live concert finally took place Sunday, Oct. 4 with 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. shows to allow for social distancing in the restored historic venue.
“Tracy Byrd put on two amazing shows for his biggest fans,” said Margret Wood, president of the Ritz board of directors. “He was so glad to be here, and he said, ‘It’s a real pleasure to be here at the Ritz Theatre, and we would have put on three shows if we needed to.’ Fans just love him!”
According to Wood, only a handful of ticket holders couldn’t make it, creating just a few empty seats.
Tickets for the two live performances of the Oak Ridge Boys at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 are selling fast, noted the Ritz staff.
