WELLINGTON — An event planner by nature who loves to cook, Lyndy Forrester Black formed a support team to provide snacks to the Wellington High School and Junior High School staff once a month.
“I just love to organize events,” Black said. “And it’s a way for me to get to bake some goodies.”
Jermaine Cantu, Wellington High school principal, said his staff is thankful for Black, along with her teacher and staff appreciation team, for showing thanks to the staff once a month.
“It is a great pick me up, and everyone really looks forward to it,” he said.
In no time at all, the teacher work-room table fills up with snacks from a team of 10 people.
“Some of them don’t even have kids in school,” Black said. “They just want the school staff to know the community supports them.”
Wellington Junior High School Principal Edward Beck expressed his gratefulness as well for him and his staff for the homemade goodies.
