WELLINGTON — For those interested in a great opportunity to serve the community and gain a valuable skill set, enrollment is now open for an Emergency Medical Technician course that begins soon.
Wellington EMS Administrator Farris Nation will teach the class, which will be limited to 20 students.
With a class start of Thursday, Oct. 22, enrollment deadline is Oct. 20. Cost is $300 per student. A payment plan is available.
Classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, including five Saturdays at the EMS Barn, located at 703 Ft. Worth St.
Students will accumulate 186 classroom hours and 48 clinical hours for the required total of 234. Classes end March 7, 2021. Clinical house? and paperwork will have to be completed by May 7, 2021.
For enrollment in the class, students must have a valid driver’s license, provide a shot record and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
In addition, students need to be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED before taking the National Registry test. The class can be taken prior to accomplishing either of these requirements.
