WELLINGTON — The three 4-H clubs of Collingsworth County each met Tuesday, Sept. 15 to open the 2020-2021 project year. The Extension office provided refreshments for all of the youth for the first meetings.
The Clover Kids met after school at Ellison Park with 17 members present. Tammy Rodriguez, 4-H program assistant, welcomed the youth, served snacks and took attendance.
“The group enjoyed the wonderful weather and recreation time,” Rodriguez said.
The Extension office provided the refreshments for Joe Lemons, Raylie Sims, Holden Wischkaemper, Claire Mock, Jack Inman, Dixie Thomas, Presley Kemp, Hadlee Patterson, Calleigh Henard, Maverick Orr, Easton Patterson, Carter Smith, Rance Fires, Ryker Killian, Lyric Derr, Maverick O’Rear and Jacob Page.
Eighteen members of the Sparklers 4-H Club met at Ellison Park as well. County Agent Kenny Paterson welcomed the youth and organized the election of club officers.
New officers include President Lawson Inman, Vice President Jorgia O’Rear, Secretary Ava Kate Inman, Treasurer Colt Patterson, Reporter Barrett Wiebe and Council Delegates Mikyela James and Miles Ouellette.
Others present were Wade Patterson, Kutter Merriam, Jeremiah Hamby, Halle Hedrick, Baron Mitchell, Westin Wiebe, Sophia Derr, Brylynn Kemp, Quade Mock and Hazel Estrada.
The next Clover Kid and Sparkler meetings will be Tuesday, Oct. 13 after school until 4:45 p.m. at Ellison Park if weather permitts.
Collingsworth Junior and High School 4-H Club met with 15 in attendance.
County Agent Kenny Patterson introduced Jill Green, new club manager. Emma Flores and Mallory O’Rear led the U.S. pledge and 4-H motto and pledge.
Members elected new officers as follows: President Emma Flores, Vice President Mallory O’Rear, Secretary Charlie Bodine, Treasurer Bailey Page, Reporter Elli Ouellette and two council delegates, Chy Green and Hunter Hedrick.
Additional members present included Addy Mock, Kali Brewer, Carter Ouellette, Keira Pina, Cortlyn McKinley, Tristan Hamby, Ellie Thomas, Tyler O’Rear and Coyt Patterson.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Ellison Park.
