WELLINGTON — Collingsworth Family Medicine announces Preston Barlow, a physician assistant, has joined its clinic.
Barlow comes to Wellington from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah, where he completed a masters’ of physician assistant studies. He is a national registered paramedic and also has a bachelor of science in fire and emergency management.
“Preston is a welcome addition to our team,” Candy Powell, administrator at Collingsworth General Hospital, said. “He expands our clinic’s ability to see more patients and enhances the health services to Wellington and the surrounding areas.”
Barlow is well-known to the area with the fire and EMS services. He has worked in public services for more than 20 years as a firefighter and paramedic and in law enforcement.
Currently Barlow lives in Wellington with his wife and two children. He said his family enjoys exploring dirt roads and seeing new places. They have a goal to visit all 50 states by his 10-year wedding anniversary.
Barlow’s other hobbies include fishing and working in his yard. He also hopes to take up archery hunting soon.
“I was introduced to the area while flying with Apollo MedFlight,” Barlow said. “The feeling of community and the friendly people in Wellington are what really stole my heart. I knew this is where I wanted to live and raise my kids. I am really blessed to be offered a position with Collingsworth General to come back to Texas and be a part of this amazing community.”
Barlow is currently accepting new patients at Collingsworth Family Medicine. To schedule an appointment, call 806-447-5311.
