CHILDRESS – Childress Bobcats Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jason Sims is the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 3A Coach of the Week winner for week 3.
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football honors one head football coach in each classification with the Coach of the Week award, the website stated. Each coach recognized with this special honor typifies the best in Texas high school football.
“Our coaching staff is so good,” Sims said. “It makes me proud. I get to work with so many coaches that are so good.”
The Dave Campbell’s Texas Football website said, “The tradition-rich Bobcats have put a tough 2019 season behind them in a major way as Coach Sims’ squad improved to a 3-0 mark with a dominant 58-14 win over Stamford. Childress has one of the state’s most explosive offensive units and is making major noise up in the Texas Panhandle.”
“It makes me prouder of how good our kids are playing,” Sims said. “I hope we’re the kind of program that stuff like this isn’t a big deal. We just want to win games. Winning is the big deal.”
Childress High School Principal Paige Steed said it’s exciting to see Coach Sims named 3A Coach of the Week.
“It’s a deserving honor, and I am so proud of the work Coach Sims, his coaching staff and the players have done this year,” Steed said. “I can’t wait to see how the season unfolds.”
