Gladys Baker Green, 100 of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Graveside services took place at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12 at Fairview Cemetery with grandsons Steven Bradshaw, youth pastor of the First Baptist Church in Troy, Mo., and Greg Bradshaw officiating. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Her grandsons, Albert Edwards, Mike Edwards, Tim Baker, Greg Bradshaw, and Steven Bradshaw, served as pallbearers.
Gladys was born December 15, 1919 in the Hooleyan community of Hardeman County, Texas to Jessie Carol and Eula Faye Hawk Srader. She married Woodrow Wilson Baker on July 29, 1938 in Quanah. He preceded her in death in 1970. In Clarendon in 1978, she married Herman Green. He died in 1981.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Wellington, Gladys was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker mostly. She cooked for Wellington Home Delivered Meals for several years.
Gladys loved to sew, quilt, cook and raise her vegetable and flower gardens.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy Joe and Len Harlen Baker, two stepsons, G.C. Baker and Herman Lee Green, Jr., four brothers and a sister.
Her survivors include two daughters, Faye Baker Edwards and her husband Bob of Bonham and Neva Bradshaw and her husband Robert of Odessa; her son Tommie Baker and his wife Anita of Wellington; a stepdaughter Sue Randall and her husband Bill of Amarillo; stepson Albert Green and his wife Bitty of Valley De Oro; sister Imajean Shubert and her husband Tommy of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to Collingsworth County Home Delivered Meals, 1001 Amarillo Street, Wellington, TX 79095.
