Childress Meals on Wheels August donations and memorials

CHILDRESS – In August, Meals on Wheels received donations from Texas Agriculture Investment Payment, CRMC, Peter Jones, Ben Cherry, L.V. Morris, Childress County Treasurer, Joy Schattel and FUMC Upper Room Sunday School Class. Meals on Wheels received the following memorials in August: for David Galligan from Mark DeArmond, Joy Jouett, Betty Bruce and Harold Fuller; for Don Long from Betty Bruce; for Leonard King from Dick and Jo Hughett; for Paula Longbine from Bill and Chylene Burba, Matt Burba, Stephine Fox, Betty Alexander and Harold Fuller; for Johnny Longbine from Stephine Fox; for Jim Mayden from Carl and Linda Seal; for Merlene Seal from Carl and Linda Seal and Jerry Decker from Angie Husband.
Miss Cotton Country now accepting entries

HOLLIS – The 16th annual Miss Cotton Country Scholarship Pageant is now accepting entries.
Miss Cotton Country is open to all girls ages 5-19 and will be held Oct. 10 in Hollis.
There will be more than $1,000 in scholarships and prizes awarded in four divisions:
Tiny Miss (5-7), Little Miss (8-11), Teen Miss (12-15) and Miss Cotton Country (16-19).
There also will be a Mini Miss Cotton Country for ages three and four. It will be held that afternoon and entries will be taken at the door.
