WELLINGTON — The Wellington Chapter of the Texas Tech Alumni Association honored incoming freshmen during its annual scholarship supper Aug. 7 at Foxtales in Wellington.
“We welcomed Curt Lanford, president of the Texas Tech Alumni Association of Lubbock, as our guest speaker,” said TTAA Wellington Chapter President Drew Taylor.
The banquet honored Wellington 2020 graduates now attending TTU, including Jayden Ballinger, Monica Neeley, Natali Granadoz, Sergio Cervantez and John Michael Holcomb. Each received a $1,000 scholarship from the Wellington Chapter of TTAA.
“We also honored Kelton 2020 graduate Brock Buckingham along with Wellington’s seniors,” said Taylor.
Kristen Odom Brown, 2008 WHS graduate of Channing, attended as a field representative for the TTAA.
Other officers of the Wellington Chapter include Vice President Taylor Allred, Secretary Colby Anderson, Treasurer Tate Baumgarner and Board Member Mark Lemons. Ex-officio members are Joe Baumgarner, Allison Strickland, Landey Waters and Kendra Hedricks.
