Robert Christopher Jackson was born in Dallas, Texas, September 16, 1966 to Bob and Barbara Jackson. He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1984 where he was a trophy-winning competitive swimmer. He also was active in the Boy Scouts and went to the National summer camp at Philmont in New Mexico.
Following high school, he spent several years in a mechanical services business with his dad and then traveling on the stock car racing circuit.
After joining the US Navy, Chris served in flight support operations aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier during the First Gulf War and later in the Mediterranean. He returned home after discharge to take care of his parents and worked from home as a stock trader.
As a genuinely caring man, he loved his family and his friends. He was always willing do to what he could to help others. His last four years were spent with Joyce, where he was able to aid in her care and daily life.
Chris died on August 21, 2020 after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Joe Jackson on June 29, 2012, and Barbara Gail Jackson on June 2, 2013. He is survived by one aunt Joyce Holtman of Childress, two honorary aunts Karen Donaldson of Dallas, Texas, Jo Wheeler of Washington, D.C. and a host of cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Childress, Texas.
