Vicente Garza Hernandez Jr., 79, formally of Sentinel, Okla., passed away August 16, 2020 at the Hobart Rehab and Nursing Center in Hobart, Okla.
Graveside services took place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Sentinel Cemetery, Sentinel, Okla. Arrangements were entrusted to Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Hobart.
Vicente was born July 25, 1941 to Vicente Hernandez, Sr. and Antonia Garza Hernandez in Del Rio, Texas. He graduated from Dodson High School in 1960. Also in 1960, Vicente married Melva Miller. To this union was born three children, Shelia, Lynn and Tommy.
Vicente worked at the cotton gin as a ginner. He enjoyed playing dominoes at the Sentinel Service Station and also loved playing cards and dominoes with his family.
Vicente loved his family. When he saw his grandkids and great grandkids, his face lit up. Vicente will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include daughters Shelia Hernandez and companion Tony Hunnicutt of Tyler, Texas and Lynn Casey and husband Raymond of Sentinel; grandchildren Brandon Casey and wife Denise of Sayre, Okla., Vince Casey and wife Priscilla of Sentinel, Shane Casey and companion Ching Magat of Yukon, Okla., Tabitha Casey and husband Eddie Espino of Sentinel, Callie Looper and husband Ryan of Hobart, Carla Gross and husband Clifton of Arlington, Texas, Anthony Dunn and companion Bianca of Tyler, Carl Dunn and companion Jackie of Florida and Jeremy Hernandez of Tyler; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Vicente in death were his parents; son Tommy Hernandez; grandson Antonio Dunn; brother Jesse Hernandez; and sister Myra Ensenia.
