MEMPHIS – The Hall County Historical Commission finalized plans to have coffee mugs with pictures of the 1893-1923 courthouse on them available for sale at the Hall County Reunion in September.
During its monthly meeting on July 13, the commission also agreed to offer T-shirts and sweatshirts with the old courthouse picture at the reunion. Orders will be taken at that time for the shirts.
Work is still progressing on gathering short articles on Hall County pioneers which will be included in a book to be published in 2021. The articles must be about men and women who were born no later than 1925 and who are buried in any Hall County cemetery.
Anyone who is interested in turning in articles on ancestors or family friends is urged to contact Lera Kate Powell at 806-259-3131 or at 1301 Brumley St., Memphis, TX 79245. Articles needs to be one page in length, including a photograph if possible.
The next meeting is scheduled or 2:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 10 at the Hall County Courthouse. Anyone interested in helping preserve the history of the county is welcome to attend.
