CHILDRESS – Childress ISD plans to start school on Aug. 13.
“We are working on a plan, but we are not ready to release it to the public at this time because it changes almost every day,” CISD Superintendent Carl Taylor said. “I can tell you that we plan to start school on Aug. 13.”
Registration packet pickup for first grade through 12th grade is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31, according to the CISD’s website. Staff will be at each campus to hand the packets to parents through the windows of their vehicles.
Parents need to return the registration packets between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3 or Tuesday, Aug. 4, the website states.
Elementary packets should be dropped off in the filing cabinets at the circle drive. Junior high packets need to be taken to a designated door: 8th North, 7th West and 6th South. High school packets can be taken to the front entrance.
New student registration for first grade through 12th grade is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, according to the CISD’s website.
Parents need to go the campus office of the school their children will attend to receive and fill out forms.
Because of COVID-19, Back to School Night has been canceled, the website stated.
