Collingsworth County currently has two positive cases of COVID-19, according to Collingsworth County Hospital.
Wellington High School reported July 16 that a male student working out in high school athletics tested positive for COVID-19, and July 30 is the end of the 14-day incubation period for anyone possibly exposed. All summer workouts have been suspended at this time.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor your health, follow the CDC guidelines for people who have had close contact, and contact your primary care physician if you develop symptoms,” WISD Superintendent Kurt Ashmore said. “Wellington ISD is continuing to monitor this situation and will provide additional information as needed. As of now, the only thing affected by this are the summer workout programs.”
Mayor J.D. Hamby said he continues to highly recommend that everyone wear masks in public during this time.
