MEMPHIS – Flags honoring the fallen were placed on veterans’ graves at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis on Memorial Day, May 25.
“I am a veteran and my father is a veteran, so it means a lot to see the participation and community support afforded to our veterans,” said Fairview Cemetery Association President Randy Phillips.
He would like to thank the 30 people who helped place 808 flags on the graves of veterans represented from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, the Indian Wars, World War I, World War II, the Korean conflict, the Vietnam War and several of the more recent conflicts.
